F1 Racing- An American Woman to spice things up.

Published by dpereda at 8:21 am under News, Racing Edit This

I am going to kick off this blog talking about the most popular racing series in the world, Formula One. F1 has not taken hold in this country and is loosing ground every year, but is growing like crazy just outside our borders. The main reason your probably not watching F1 is that there are no longer any American drivers or teams in F1 and the ones we had, didn’t do very well.

Honda is trying to remedy that situation and do it with some flare and some style. Honda CEO mentioned this weekDanica that he is willing to let female Indy driver Danica Patrick test as a driver in their F1 team. (For those or you that don’t know F1 is also the most expensive form of racing out there, and teams keep top drivers on staff just to test their cars.)

While this is exciting news, I wouldn’t get your hopes up for Danica’s domination of F1. Danica is good, but she is not even the best Indy driver we have. She is currently 5 over all. Honda’s F1 team is also not anywhere near top of the F1 heap. They have made strides from last season, but have many hurdles ahead. Ferrari, Mercedes, and in a surprise BMW are dominating this season.
